There are not many people who would get excited about a ratty, earth-crusted sack of potatoes but instead of a pile of starchy tubers destined for a mashing I see one of my favourite comfort foods–GNOCCHI DI PATATE. The only question is am I adept enough in the kitchen to create those fluffy, airy pillows of heaven?

Every cook I know has at least one nemesis in the kitchen. Mine is the scone. Instead of a light, flaky pastry my attempts often resulted in dense, dry mounds of dough I nicknamed breakfast cookies since they did not deserve to be called scones.
