Dry sense of humour–Farm Tour #6

Well folks. Sadly this will be the last post of the Farm Tour Series for a while. One of my last trips took me back to the southern corner of the Kootenays.I spent the morning at Canyon City, a family run farm located just outside of Lister, BC. The Moore’s farm was in the transitional stage, the dry soil tilled and ready for the new sproutings to show their tiny green heads. There wasn’t much to see in the fields but I had a great time hanging out in their greenhouse, wandering amongst the cows and learning a bit more about irrigation from Randy.

I also kept myself amused in the attempt to capture a few images of the chickens in their coop. They obviously wanted nothing to do with me and all I caught was this chicken butt which frankly– I like. I am considering starting a new series call Farm Butts including such favourites as ‘chicken butt’ and the always cute ‘pig butt’ from my Kootenay Alpine Cheese Co. post.

With sadness, this concludes my Farm Tour Series for now. I hope you enjoyed and hopefully the spring will bring more opportunities to continue the series.
